Jerusalem, the holy city is important in the heart of every Jew and hence Jews recite the phrase "Im Eshkachech Yerusalayim, Tishkach Yemini"- "If I forget thee O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget her cunning". This teapot is a beautiful depiction of Jerusalem in all its glory of rich colors and splendid olive trees, indigenous to the area. The famous, ancient towers, Kotel, Golden Dome and ancient wall are beautifully portrayed on the teapot. The use of clay represents the ancient stone of Jerusalem known for its gold gleam when reflected by the sun. The colors of orange, red, yellow, blue and green offer an opulent appearance and the blue border and patterns are typical of an Armenian design. The snout stands out in bold brown and blue with a touch of yellow on the lid and body of the pot; the finishing touch is a delicate flower on the knob of the lid. The bottom of the teapot features the word Jerusalem in black.

This wonderful teapot can be used as a decorative ornament or as part of a set with other ceramics to serve guests piping hot tea on special occasions.

Bring a touch of art, history, culture and Jerusalem to someone's home with this lovely piece.

Note: Armenian ceramics are delicate and should be treated with care. Each piece is individually hand made with the ancient skill of mixing and shaping clay and water and then placing the object in an oven or kiln at a temperature of 1000°C until it hardens. The piece is then beautifully hand painted with metallic and oxidized paint, maintaining a natural color and then placed again in the oven at the same temperature. The finishing touch is one of fine glazing.
